CHEERLEADING
Overview
The Littlestown Elementary Cheer program offers girls age 5 through 12 the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of cheerleading. A cheerleader must be at least 5 years old and entering Kindergarten to register. They learn how to be part of a team and good sportsmanship. Cheerleading provides a strength-training and cardiovascular workout that keeps girls healthy and fit, as well as maintaining a positive attitude. We are a feeder program for Littlestown Cheerleading. LEFA abides by a strict Code of Conduct policy. You can find LEFA's Cheer Code of Conduct under Parent Documents.
Coaching Opportunities
We are always looking for parents/adult volunteers to help by coaching a cheer team. We hope you will consider helping our LEFA Cheer Program by coaching or volunteering. If interested, please send an email to one of the directors provided above. Also, there is a section in the online registration program to volunteer/coach.
When and Where are Games?
Rink Cheer (Grades 2-3)
Pony Cheer (Grades 4-5)
Midget Cheer (Grade 6)
All football games are played on Saturday or Sunday. LEFA is a part of York County Youth Football Association (YCYFA).
Flag Cheer (Grades K-1)
Flag cheerleaders accompany the flag football teams. They usually have games on Saturdays starting at 10:00am. The games can be home (at the Littlestown practice fields) or away.
When and Where are Practices?
Practices will start mid August. Flag and Rink Cheer practice is 6:00-7:00PM at ACES Playground. Pony and Midget cheer teams practice at ACES bus loop/gym from 6-7:30PM.
Game Cancellations
Games are cancelled for lightning and/or flooded fields. Games are cancelled by LEFA President. Should a game be cancelled you will receive a league email. Games that have played 2 full quarters will not be rescheduled. The final score stands.
Registration Fees
Registration for Rink, Pony, and Midget is $85 per cheerleader. Registration for Flag Cheer is $65 per cheerleader. Your registration fee includes the cheer uniform and pompoms and bows. Cheerleaders must buy white cheer shoes to complete the uniform. All participants are expected to fundraise. If you choose not to fundraise there is a mandatory buy-out of $40 per athlete.
How do I Register?
Registration is open every year in April-May for the following fall season. (Dates may be subject to change) Check our Facebook for most updates. (@LEFALittlestownElementaryFootballAssociation). You will need to register for a household account. This will enable you to sign up each of your children for a specific sport and you will then be able to receive emails from LEFA about upcoming registration and other important events. Payment is due at the time of registration (if mailing a check - it is due within one week) or your child will be placed on a waiting list until we receive payment.
